Welcome to Grand Royal Cottage, another great home offered by Third Coast Vacations, a full-service vacation rental company run by locals who love Harbor Country. Third Coast Vacations is more than a place to find a great home base for your getaway. Staying with us gets you:
Welcome to Grand Royal Cottage, a charming four bedroom, two bath cottage just steps from Sandy Lake Michigan beaches and a historic public golf course. This home features a huge indoor hot tub in a screen porch area at the back of the home, perfect for unwinding no matter the weather. Want games to pass the time? The home has ping pong, tons of board / card games for you to take advantage of! The garage has ping pong, foosball, and beach gear along with a golf cart you may use for getting to the beach or cruising the neighborhood.
When you step into the home you’ll find yourself in a large, open plan kitchen and dining area with a lovely seating area. The large countertops feature bar seating and the kitchen is fully stocked with all cookware.
Off the dining room is a sunken living room area with a cozy sofa and chair perfect for watching TV on the large flat screen. On the other side of the kitchen is a screen porch area with additional seating and the separate hot tub room which leads to the back yard area.
Down the hall from the kitchen area you will find four bedrooms. The first has two twin beds as well as a closet where you will find the washer and dryer for the home. The second bedroom features a Queen size bed and is right next to the full bathroom in the halfway.
At the end of the hall are two additional bedrooms, one of which features two pyramid bunk beds (twin over full) that can sleep up to 6 children. Next door is the home’s master suite with a queen size bed, work station, and private full bathroom with a large walk in shower.
Off the back of the home is a tetherball set, a fire pit, a gas grill, and an outdoor dining table. Private association beaches are just .25 mile walk from the home.
Note: there are three cameras, one facing out from the front door, one facing out from the porch door and one facing out from the garage door.

Your team was mega-friendly, responsive, & thorough thru out the entire process of reserving, check-in, & the online form to notify for any issues or feedback was easy-to-use. One example was letting us know a loaner golf cart was on-the-way ahead of our stay. (Assuming you received the feedback from your jotform, none of our issues, required immediate attention, so I cannot vouch for how that part of the process works.)
Property
We loved this sweet beach cottage in serene coastal-style decor for our last-minute 2-couples getaway. Walking distance (1 block) from private association beach, we enjoyed a sunset, cooked-in, loved the various common areas to get both alone or together-time (sunken sunroom/tv room, large kitchen/great room, inside hot tub & large screened -in porch, outside rocking chairs, firepit, game room area in garage, too.) The golf cart is an awesome amenity. This is a great place to relax & enjoy SW MI area & I could have stayed much longer!
Property FAQs
Does the home have a golf cart?
Yes! It does and while at the property, you are welcome to use it. Licensed drivers are allowed to drive the cart. Please be sure to plug it back in to charge when not in use.
Where is the nearest beach and can we drive the golf cart to it?
Yes, you can drive the cart to the beach at the corner of Wildwood Rd and Lake View Ave, which is 2/10 of a mile from the property, close to the end of Royal Ave and Lake View. There are four other beaches nearby in the neighborhood but it's hard to say which ones are open at any given time. Beach conditions change every year / season and can open or close depending on the lake. Please ask us for current conditions, we are happy to help.

Can we have an outdoor fire?
Yes, the property has a fire pit for your use.
Indoor hot tub? For real?
Yes, there is a hot tub in the three season porch! It is fantastic. You will need to open a window to allow for moisture to escape when the cover is off but otherwise, you can use it like any other hot tub.
Can we drive the golf cart to downtown New Buffalo?
Unfortunately, no. There is no connecting neighborhood road to downtown and the city of New Buffalo does not allow non street legal golf carts on the road. The golf cart must stay in the neighborhood or you will be at risk of getting a ticket.

Parking
There is parking for four cax in the driveway maximum please. No street parking is allowed on Royal Ave.
